It is hard to believe that we have just a little more than three weeks left of the school year
The Social Studies Civilization project were well done. The projects came home last Friday.
This week we will be working on the following concepts.
Reading we will be starting the book Old Yeller, the class voted on this book about another dog.
Social Studies we are talking about Ancient Japan, India and China
Religion we are finishing up the Vision magazines and then we will move on to their text book
Math we are taking Algebra concepts and starting on Probability.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week as a class we will recognize those who do so much for us. So we will make cards and give each teacher a solar flower. This should be fun.
Social Studies — the project is due on Tuesday, May 8th. The project includes a two page paper, a poster board with facts and pictures and two artifacts on the civilazation.
Math– Create and Intrept Graphs & Properties of Function
Reading — Literary Devices and Plot and Point of View
Religion — Caring for Creation

May is here. It is hard to believe that the month of May is here and warm weather is upon us.
Thanks for sending in the snacks. We had a nice little party while doing work.
This is what is going on this week.
The big thing is to finish the Social Studies Project. The entire project will be due May 8th.
We are working in class doing research and writing the paper. The poster board and artifacts need to be done on their own.
Reading– Authors Techniques and Literary Genres and Devices
Math– Indirect Measures and Rate of Change

It is hard to believe that April is coming to an end and May is just around the corner.
This week is OAA testing so our schedule and classes will be adjusted.
For Social Studies your child will need a poster board, you can get them at a Dollar Tree or I have some for a dollar.
We are coming to the end of reading the book Holes, so we will be watching the movie on Friday. If you want to send in something to share during the movie, please do so.

Coming up this week…
This week will be busy with an assembly, stations of the cross and Friday being “Good Friday”
Math equivalent expressions and angles in lines and polygons
Reading continuation of the book Holes
Social Studies we will begin our projects since I was out last week
Religion reaching out and coloring butterflies for the Sisters for Easter
On Holy Thursday we will be watching the movie “In Rembrance” on the last supper to make this Thursday just a little different than all the others.

Math continuing on algebraic equations. Taking properties of angles and intrepreting patterns.
Reading HOLES.
Religion beginning to talk about Holy Week.
Social Studies we will begin working on a project for chapter 11.
The students will write a two page research paper on one of the African or American civilizations. They will do a poster board of facts and pictures. They will need to create two artifacts from their civilzation. This will be due after Easter break.

We have another busy week ahead of us.
So this week we will be doing the following…
Math– two step equations
Reading– beginning the novel Holes by Louis Sachar
Social Studies we will be finishing up the chapter on the Middle Ages with the culture of that time.
Religion we will be talking abour Jesus as our Light which is the Gospel for Sunday March 18th.

Math this week we will be doing similar figures, object transformations, sampling data and scatter plots.
Social Studies we will be presenting Prezi and taking Feudalism.
Reading we will be analysing settings and doing author’s purpose and technique.
Religion we will be talking about the ten commandments.
